In 2007, I became an advocate for animals, and ever since then I’ve channeled my passion for communications, legal change, and plant-based foods to create a kinder world.

The humane society of the u.s., public policy Outreach manager
September 2013 - May 2017
I worked to defeat ag-gag legislation across the U.S. and advocated for state laws banning the extreme confinement of farmed animals. I specialized in grassroots organizing, coalition-building, media relations, and lobbying.
In this role, I also helped lead the Yes on 3 ballot measure campaign in Massachusetts, which passed by a landslide in 2016 and at the time was the world’s strongest farmed animal protection law. On the campaign, I oversaw a team of 3-8 staff and created and executed the strategy to collect 40 percent more signatures than required without hiring a political firm, something no other Massachusetts ballot campaign achieved in the campaign cycle. This saved the campaign an estimated $270,000.
the humane society of the u.s., food policy coordinator

I worked with Midwest and New England food service directors at hospitals, colleges, and K-12 school districts to implement Meatless Monday programs. Highlights include working with Harvard University and Fresh Picks Café, a 100-school foodservice company.
Mercy for animals, senior campaign coordinator
